Caller Experience 2.0: Excelsis Launches Quality Initiative for Voice Portals

Extended Team of Experts for Voice User Interface Design and Speech Technology

Stuttgart, Germany, 08.07.2008 - Excelsis Business Technology AG from Stuttgart, leading provider of voice portals for customer services, today announces the launch of the quality initiative "Caller Experience 2.0". With the initiative the company introduces a new generation of high-value voice portals that are characterized by the integration of innovative technologies and methods in the fields of speech recognition, voice biometrics as well as speech dialog design.

To answer the demanding requirements of companies Excelsis extended its product and service team for voice user interface design and speech technology with four more experts at the locations Stuttgart and Zurich. Under the direction of Dr. Nils Herda the team brings in all new expertise from current scientific research as well as industry projects for product and solution development for customers. This will significantly upgrade the quality of voice portal applications and allow for inspiring caller experiences. The initiative Caller Experience 2.0 enables Excelsis’ current and future customers to use the know-how and the superior expertise of the VUI-team.

"With the current extension in the field voice user interface design we now have an international leading team of ten experts from the fields of computional linguistics, phonetics and phonology, linguistics and cognition science and human computer interaction," summarizes Dr. Nils Herda, Managing Director DACH. In the field of phonetik and phonology Dr. Jörg Broggelwirth a proven expert from SpinVox switches to Excelsis. SpinVox, located in Cambridge, Great Britain, is deemed to be the leading company for voice recognition.

The team of the extended Excelsis VUI center will concentrate on exploiting current cognitions from science and experience and incorporating those into the software development. Most important: to satisfy the caller, new automation concepts, the design of dialogs, speech and sound elements as well as realisation options for natural language applications.
