Voice Portal for Public Transport in Dubai

Major Order for EXCELSIS in International Tender

Stuttgart, Germany, 08.02.2008 – Excelsis wins tender of the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai. Excelsis is member of the international consortium that has won the tender for the implementation of a multimodal system for individual journey planning by public transport.

In this project, the Stuttgart based company provides a voice portal for journey planning. It is part of the comprehensive solution "Journey Planner" which is accounted for by the Munich software company mdv and IAL, a subsidiary of the international Serco-Group. The journey planner for Dubai will be the first of its kind in the Middle East.

Callers can use the bilingual system in Arabic and English. It will be available on the internet as well as via cell phones, PDA's, Smartphones and the voice portal developed by Excelsis.

According to Excelsis CEO, Christian Sauter, the extensive experience of the software house in developing complex applications for speech systems will be extremely beneficial in the implementation of this project. Excelsis has provided various companies with similar software, also including the time table information systems for public transportation agencies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
