Deutsche Telekom Wins
Voice Award 2007 for "Preisvergleich 11864"
Stuttgart, Germany, 19.10.2007 - Excelsis customer Deutsche Telekom won
the Voice Award in the categroy "Best Value-Added Service" for the application
"Deutsche Telekom: Preisvergleich 11864". The system has been
honoured as the best voice-operated public telephone service and best cost liable
speech portal with the most convincing business model.
With the help of this innovative service users are able to find out the
lowest price for any product in the fields of electronics, home entertainment
and computers as well as the according retailer and his telephone number. The
results can be announced via telephone, mobile phone or integrated in the
decision process at the point of sale.

The testing procedure evaluates telephone services that enable users to
talk with a German speaking computer service. The service required no prior
coaching in order to recognize the voice of the user.

For four years the initiative Voice Business has granted the annual
Voice Awards at the Voice Days in Bonn
[www.voicedays.de], one of the most renowned conventions for speech
technologies. Awards in five categories are conferred for the best German
speaking voice portals. This year 50 voice-operated services from Germany, Switzerland
and Austria
were registered, 30 qualified for the final evaluation. In June and July 2007 the
applications were extensively checked, analyzed and evaluated in interviews and
user tests.
