EXCELSIS speech portal nominated for the Voice Award 2006
The T-Com 11864 Directory Assistance developed by EXCELSIS together
with Nuance and Avaya is one of the hottest candidates for this year’s Voice
Award.
Stuttgart, 7.9.2006. The Voice Award Jury tested speech portals for the third
time, the results of which Prof. Wolfgang Wahlster, head of the German Research
Center for Artificial Intelligence [DFKI] and chairman of the award jury
announced at the IFA in Berlin. T-Com’s 11864 service and two other speech
portals are competing in the category "Best Value-Added Service". 11864 is a
voice-operated directory assistance that also offers additional value with other
services. During the FIFA World Cup 2006™, for example, T-Com provided special
offers all around the World Cup under 11864, like Audio-Live-Tickers, match
reports and an overview of match dates and up-to-date scores. Currently a
special football alarm clock automatically waking fans with the voices of
prominent German Soccer League players as well as an application to download
ring tones can be ordered via the 11864 info line.
"With this nomination we are looking at one of the greatest voice applications Europe-wide" EXCELSIS CEO Christian Sauter
is happy to say. "The speech application InfoTraffic, which we developed
for our customer Swisscom for Viasuisse AG, already won the Voice
Award in the same category as best value-added service last year. This shows
that intelligent, voice-operated communication offers are a business model with
future, and that EXCELSIS is one of the best in successfully implementing these
business ideas in the market."
The final decision on who will be the winner will be made October 18th in the
course of the Voice Days in Bonn. EXCELSIS is an exhibitor at this important
convention and will show numerous voice solutions being used by various
customers at the stand and in the running programme.
