Mundwerk AG: new member of the EXCELSIS Group
The Stuttgart based EXCELSIS Group invests in its speech technology
division with a majority takeover of the Berlin based Mundwerk AG
Stuttgart/Berlin, 15.2.2005. More than 98% of Mundwerk AG’s
shareholders have sold their shares to EXCELSIS Business Technology AG in
Stuttgart. Hereby, EXCELSIS has succeeded in completing its third strategic
acquisition in the area of speech technology. In July 2004, EXCELSIS purchased
100% of the shares of the speech technology specialist, Insonic AG in Zurich,
and in December 2004 100% of Vocalify in Bern.
"Following the purchase of Mundwerk AG, we now have access to a speech
dialogue platform with which we can also provide medium sized enterprises with a
cost effective speech dialogue system. This outsourcing model for speech
services is in response to market requirements which we can now meet", this
according to Christian Sauter, CEO of EXCELSIS.
About Mundwerk AG
Mundwerk is one of the best known service providers in the area of speech
recognition in Germany. Its core business lies in the development and operation
of a speech dialogue platform and speech applications. Furthermore, Mundwerk AG
offers a rental or hosting model as opposed to the purchase of a speech dialogue
system. Hereby, companies using the system do not have to make any investment in
the hardware and software. Instead, a certain number of phone lines can be
rented on the speech dialogue platform operated by Mundwerk, depending on
customer requirements. Mundwerk also provides standard solutions, including: a
system for the acquisition of meter readings in the energy sector, information
systems in the insurance sector as well as customer service in publishing and
the public service sector. Furthermore, Mundwerk operates a professional sound
studio and supplies users and developers of speech dialogue systems with high
quality audio productions. Mundwerk works for example for T-Online, Viterra
Energy Services, U-Serv, Versicherungskammer Bayern, dit, Colgate and
moneybookers.com. The company was founded in 2000 and is located in Berlin.
