MEDION has developed a business model which opens up attractive
non-food market segments for leading European corporate groups, while at
the same time opening up new distribution channels for brand manufacturers
operating worldwide. The company supports trade as well as manufacturers
with selective sales deals of PC/multimedia products, entertainment and
household electronics as well as communication technology.
MEDION's marketing and service palette comprises the complete value
chain of the trading process, including a 365 day hotline in their own
call center, the competent support for application questions, guarantee
processing as well as repeat ordering. After MEDION had initially
concentrated mainly on the German market, where some product segments
achieve two figure market shares today, the business model has been
successfully carried forward to foreign markets in the last years. Here
the emphasis was on West Europe at first. But Eastern European and Asian
markets as well as North America are increasingly gaining in importance.

EXCELSIS provides MEDION with its product EXCELSIS Address Capture in a version especially adapted
for MEDION. With its voice-operated system, MEDION can now automate
the compilation of addresses of new users of the mobile
phone product Aldi Talk when they register.
