Marburger Lederwaren: Time registration via speech portal
Excelsis delivers innovative hosting solution for fast and highly secure time registration
Stuttgart, 08/07/2009 – Sales force employees at Marburger Lederwaren can now use an Excelsis speech portal to register their working time. The Stuttgart based company was commissioned to realise a phone-based solution on the Excelsis VoiceXML hosting platform.
Marburger Lederwaren is a family-run business that operates approx. 200 shops at various large department stores, each of which is operated by a considerable number of personnel. Employees of Marburger Lederwaren wanting to conduct their time registration now call the speech portal. They are automatically identified and authorised via their calling line number [CLI] and personal identification number [PIN]. Afterwards, they can efficiently register with a single dialog step.
The speech portal is operated as a Software as a Service [SaaS] model on the Excelsis Hosting Platform. The platform complies with carrier grade requirements. It enables Marburger Lederwaren to operate the application without any investments into their own hardware infrastructure or software and to flexibly make use of telephony capacity and speech technology.
Security is ensured by redundant firewalls,telephony and internet lines, 128bit SSL encryption, connections to web servers via virtual private networks [VPN], a high availability data centre, ITIL-compliant service management and compliance to the IT-security catalogues of the German “Federal Office for Information Security“. Hence, the platform fulfils all requirements for the operation of business critical applications.
