IT innovation award presented to the Excelsis telemonitoring voice portal
Stuttgart, 03/23/2009 – Excelsis telemonitoring, our healthcare voice portal solution, was presented with the IT innovations price by the Small and Medium Enterprises [SME] Initative (under the patronage of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology). Low investment costs and the product’s comprehensive functionality convinced the jury of its suitability for small and medium enterprises.
Using standard interfaces, the integrated solution links telemedical services to patients’ medical records. Common fields of application for phone-based telemonitoring are widespread diseases like cardiac insufficiency, diabetes or asthma. They all require regular monitoring of vital signs. Patients can enter their data quickly and easily on the phone by calling the voice portal.
By winning this award, the Excelsis telemonitoring voice portal was added to the SME-list right from start. “With all our products, we aim at the innovative utilisation of standardised technologies. We are very happy that the SME Initiative recognised our efforts in this way”, states Christian Sauter, CEO of Excelsis.

The IT innovations price (INNOVATIONSPREIS-IT) by the Small and Medium Enterprises Initative (Initiative Mittelstand) annually awards IT products, solutions and services that are suitable for SME. The award considers market needs for practice-oriented transfer of IT-related know-how and gives impetus to improving competitive advantage.
In 2009, the INNOVATIONSPREIS-IT is under the patronage of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
